September Goes Out With a Bang.
Eight releases — new albums, anniversary editions, and one legendary live record back on wax. All in stock now and shipping fast from Verona, WI.
The final Friday of September delivers one of the most eclectic and rewarding release days of the fall. Leon Bridges makes a stunning creative left turn with an Afrobeat and Brazilian-influenced record produced by members of Jungle. Hermanos Gutiérrez return with their third Dan Auerbach production, this time trading cosmic Americana for the Andean landscapes of their South American roots. Joy Oladokun brings a deeply personal new album with Nigerian production and a feature from Adekunle Gold. Stryper deliver their most anthemic Christian metal in years. And the Collector's Corner this week is loaded: Alice In Chains' legendary MTV Unplugged set on yellow vinyl, the Toy Story 5 soundtrack featuring a new Taylor Swift song, plus anniversary pressings from Olivia Dean and Noah Kahan.
Something for everyone. Let's get into it.
Featured New Releases
The week's biggest new albums — all in stock now.
Leon Bridges — Happiness Anytime (Vinyl LP, Red — Indie Exclusive)
His fifth studio album and his most surprising yet. Happiness Anytime on Columbia Records finds the Fort Worth soul singer working with J Lloyd and Lydia Kitto of UK band Jungle — and the result is a warmly transportive record that draws from Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, Brazilian music, soul, and disco in equal measure. The 13-track album features "Light the Way," "Tears of Joy," "Illusion," "Your Love Is Electric," "All Day All Night," "Talk It Over," and the closing "Please Don't Say Goodbye." A bold and beautiful step forward from one of the finest voices in contemporary soul. The Indie Exclusive red vinyl is the one to own.
Hermanos Gutiérrez — Los Ojos del Cóndor (Vinyl LP, Solar Flare — Indie Exclusive)
The Swiss-Ecuadorian guitar duo of brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez return with their third collaboration with producer Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) on Easy Eye Sound — and this one is a genuine departure. Where previous albums traded in cosmic Americana and desert canyon soundscapes, Los Ojos del Cóndor leaves all that behind for the coastal mist of Lima, Peru, where the brothers' lineage takes root. An odyssey through South American soundscapes — Andean rhythms, Peruvian soul, music rooted in blood and soil rather than borrowed mythology. Features "Canto Andino," "Ciudad Inca," "Alma Mia," "La Danza Del Viento," and "Dios de la Paz." Solar Flare Indie Exclusive pressing.
Joy Oladokun — Hope Is a Heavy Thing (Vinyl LP, Gray — Indie Exclusive)
One of today's most compelling genre-defying voices, Joy Oladokun brings a deeply personal new album on Concord Records — written at the intersection of identity, faith, mental health, and social justice, and produced herself with additional contributions from Nigerian producer Spellz. Features a collaboration with Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold on "Sage" and includes "Dear Maria," "Easy Company," "Kind," "The End of the World," "Zombie," "Don't Call Me Baby!," and "Time Is a River" across 12 tracks. Limited Edition gray eco-vinyl, Indie Exclusive. Also available on Black Ice vinyl.
Stryper — Throne of Thorns (Vinyl LP, Red — Indie Exclusive)
Decades into their career, Christian metal pioneers Stryper show no signs of slowing down. Throne of Thorns on Frontiers Records continues to blend their signature message with thunderous rhythms, soaring guitar harmonies, and the unmistakable vocals of frontman Michael Sweet across 11 tracks — including "Throne of Thorns," "Here In Your Heart," "Falling," "Carry The Flame," "Hollywood," "Beautifully Broken," and the closing "Shadowbreaker." Red Indie Exclusive pressing.
Collector's Corner
Anniversary pressings, a legendary live album back on wax, and one very special picture disc.
Alice In Chains — Unplugged (Vinyl 2xLP)
Originally recorded in April 1996 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music for MTV's Unplugged series — one of the most emotionally raw and haunting performances in the show's history. With Layne Staley at his most vulnerable and the band stripped back to acoustic instruments, Unplugged captures Alice In Chains at a moment that feels both triumphant and devastating in equal measure. Features "Nutshell," "Down In a Hole," "Rooster," "Would?," "Brother," "Heaven Beside You," "Got Me Wrong," "Angry Chair," "Sludge Factory," "Frogs," "Over Now," "The Killer Is Me," and more across 13 live performances. On Sony Legacy. An essential record — finally back in print on 2xLP.
Toy Story 5 (Original Soundtrack) Vinyl 2xLP (Picture Disc)
The soundtrack to Disney·Pixar's Toy Story 5 on Walt Disney Records — featuring Taylor Swift's original song "I Knew It, I Knew You" written for the film, alongside an all-new original score from Academy Award-winning composer and Disney Legend Randy Newman, who has scored every film in the franchise since the original 1995 classic. The 25-track score includes "Buzz's Tire Swing," "Tech Boom," "Bonnie's New E-Friends," "Bad News," "Interrogation," "Buried Treasure," and the closing "Bonnie and Blaze." Pressed as a picture disc 2xLP — a natural gift for any Toy Story fan and a great display piece.
Olivia Dean — The Art of Loving (Vinyl LP, Silver, 180g — 1-Year Anniversary Edition)
Released just one year ago, The Art of Loving is Olivia Dean's second studio album — a tender, soulful exploration of love in all its dimensions that earned her the 2026 Grammy Award for Best New Artist, multiple BRIT Award nominations, and a Mercury Prize nod. Drawing on neo-soul, jazz, and pop, it features "Nice to Each Other," "Lady Lady," "So Easy (To Fall In Love)," "Let Alone," "Man I Need," "A Couple Minutes," and "Baby Steps" across 13 tracks. To mark the one-year anniversary of the multi-platinum album, this limited-edition pressing has been half-speed mastered by Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis Studios, London — one of the most respected mastering engineers in the world — and pressed on heavyweight 180-gram silver vinyl. Half-speed mastering allows the cutting lathe to operate at half the normal speed, capturing significantly more high-frequency detail and dynamic range than a standard cut. If you already own The Art of Loving on vinyl, this is the version that makes you hear it differently. If you don't own it yet, this is the one to start with. Also available as a CD + Blu-ray Audio anniversary edition.
Noah Kahan — I Was / I Am (Vinyl LP, Orange — 5-Year Anniversary Edition)
Five years on from its original release, Noah Kahan's sophomore album gets a limited edition orange vinyl pressing on Mercury Records. Created with the idea of "who I am as compared to who I was" — developed after Kahan returned to Los Angeles in late 2020 — the album features "Part of Me," "Animal," "Caves," "Bad Luck," "Godlight," "Fear of Water," "Hollow," "Bury Me," and the standout "Someone Like You" featuring Joy Oladokun. A beautiful way to own the record that started the journey toward Stick Season.
Pro Tip
The Leon Bridges red IEX is the pick of the week for soul fans — Happiness Anytime is a genuine surprise from an artist who continues to grow in unexpected directions. The Hermanos Gutiérrez Solar Flare pressing is stunning and will move quickly — if you're a fan, don't sleep on it. And the Alice In Chains Unplugged yellow vinyl sold out before it even arrived, but the standard 2xLP is back in print and very much worth owning — this is one of the greatest live albums ever recorded.
