October opens with one of the year's most significant reissues. The Beatles' Rubber Soul — one of the most important albums in the history of recorded music — arrives in a stunning new edition featuring a 2026 stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell and a full second disc of Sessions material, half-speed mastered on 180-gram vinyl. The Goo Goo Dolls' 4x platinum Dizzy Up the Girl gets a beautiful Blue Iris anniversary pressing. And Vince Guaraldi's warm jazz score for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving arrives on pink vinyl with previously unreleased bonus takes — arriving just in time for the season.
Also in this week: debut solo albums from Franni Cash and We Are Messengers, both just arrived from recent release dates. Let's get into it.
The Beatles — Rubber Soul
One of the greatest albums ever made. Now in its best-ever vinyl edition.
The Beatles — Rubber Soul (Vinyl 2xLP, Special Deluxe Edition, 2x 180 Gram, Half-Speed Mastered)
Originally released December 3, 1965 — the album where The Beatles stopped being a pop group and started being something else entirely. Rubber Soul introduced folk, Indian classical, and soul influences into their music, and the songwriting leap from Help! to this record remains one of the most dramatic in rock history. This Special Deluxe Edition is the most complete and best-sounding vinyl presentation the album has ever received.
Disc One features the full new 2026 stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell — restoring the album's original spatial depth and detail across all 14 tracks: "Drive My Car," "Norwegian Wood," "You Won't See Me," "Nowhere Man," "Think For Yourself," "The Word," "Michelle," "What Goes On," "Girl," "I'm Looking Through You," "In My Life," "Wait," "If I Needed Someone," and "Run For Your Life." Half-speed mastered on 180-gram vinyl.
Disc Two adds 16 Sessions highlights: the "Day Tripper" songwriting work tape, Paul's demo of "We Can Work It Out," instrumental backing tracks for "Michelle," "Girl," "Norwegian Wood," "Drive My Car," "If I Needed Someone," "In My Life," "Nowhere Man," "The Word," and more — plus early takes and alternate versions that reveal the songs in their making. A gatefold sleeve with 4-page insert completes the package.
Collector's Picks
Two more releases worth owning — one '90s rock essential, one seasonal classic.
The Goo Goo Dolls — Dizzy Up the Girl (Vinyl LP, Blue Iris — Anniversary Edition)
Their sixth studio album and still their most successful. Originally released in 1998, Dizzy Up the Girl went 4x platinum in the US and features "Iris" — which spent 18 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, earned three Grammy nominations, hit #1 on Modern Rock, Adult Top 40, and Mainstream Top 40, and remains the most-streamed '90s song on Spotify. Also features "Slide," "Black Balloon," "Broadway," "January Friend," "Acoustic #3," and more across 14 tracks. This Blue Iris anniversary pressing on Warner Records is a fitting tribute to an album that has never stopped finding new listeners.
Vince Guaraldi — A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (Vinyl LP, Pink Jelly Bean — Indie Exclusive)
The 10th Peanuts special turns 50, and Vince Guaraldi's warm, cozy piano trio score gets the anniversary treatment it deserves. This Indie Exclusive pressing on Pink Jelly Bean vinyl on LMFP includes the original music from the special — "Thanksgiving Theme," "Peppermint Patty," "Little Birdie," "Thanksgiving Interlude," "Is It James or Charlie?," "Linus and Lucy," "Fife & Drums Theme," and more — plus a collection of previously unreleased bonus takes and alternate mixes: "Peppermint Patty (Bonus Mix)," "Linus and Lucy (Bonus Mix)," multiple alternate takes of "Thanksgiving Interlude," and the rare "Clark and Guaraldi." A must for Guaraldi and Peanuts collectors, and a genuinely lovely early-October seasonal record.
CCM — Just In
Two recent Christian releases that just arrived — both worth checking out for fans of the genre.
Franni Cash — Here I Am (Vinyl LP, White)
For the first time since launching her solo career — formerly of We The Kingdom — Franni Cash unveils her debut album, an autobiographical and deeply personal 13-track journey pressed here on white vinyl. Blending infectious pop melodies with honest storytelling, the album captures a voice unapologetically speaking her mind. The focus track "Honest To God" captures the vulnerability of reaching your breaking point and turning to Him for strength and guidance. Also features "Sunday Morning," "Raised By Wolves," "Church Clothes," "Jezebel," "Menace," and more.
We Are Messengers — Halfway Home (Vinyl LP)
The most expansive album yet from the Irish-born Christian pop duo of Darren Mulligan and wife Heidi. Halfway Home spans 13 tracks including "Heavy & Light," "Faith Hope Love," "Room For You," "Heaven And Earth," "Real King," "I Know We'll Be Ok," "Civilians," "Sorrys and Retributions," and the closing "Jesus You Couldn't Recognize." A full, warm record from a duo who continue to grow with every album.
Pro Tip
The Beatles Special Deluxe 2xLP is the pick of the week without question — the Sessions disc alone makes it essential for any serious collector, and the 2026 Giles Martin stereo mix is a meaningful upgrade over previous pressings. If you're a Guaraldi fan, the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving pink pressing pairs beautifully with the Great Pumpkin zoetrope we carry — two Peanuts seasonal classics, both on vinyl, ready to go as fall kicks in.
