Soultrane Vinyl LP (Red)

Released in 1958, Soultrane captures John Coltrane during a transitional period in his career, pressed here on limited edition 180 gram Red vinyl. Having joined the Miles Davis Quintet in 1955 and having yet to form his own celebrated quartet with McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones in 1960, Coltrane spent these years overcoming addiction and expanding his musical ideas, recording a series of quartet sides featuring Red Garland on piano and Paul Chambers on bass that would prove to be predecessors of his landmark 1960 quartet.
