John Coltrane Plays The Blues Vinyl LP (180g, Blue)

Recorded in 1960 right after The Avant-Garde, Coltrane's Sound, and the all-time classic My Favorite Things, Coltrane Plays the Blues is a thematic LP of six tunes based on the blues, pressed here on 180 gram Blue vinyl. “Blues to Bechet,” one of two tracks where Coltrane plays soprano sax, is dedicated to Sidney Bechet, the jazzman who brought the instrument to jazz; pianist McCoy Tyner sits out on “Blues to Bechet” and both takes of “Blues to You,” reducing the band to a trio.
