Medium Build is the project of Nebraska-born singer-songwriter John Conley, known for his emotionally raw and genre-defying blend of country, indie rock, new wave, and heartland Americana. Raised in Georgia, educated in Tennessee, and transformed by time in Alaska, Conley draws from a wide palette — classic country, '80s pop, and early 2000s emo — to craft honest, working-class songs about friendship, loss, addiction, and the pursuit of feeling alive. His 2024 album Country and new album King of Having Fun, due September 4, 2026, showcase an artist fully in command of his voice.
