Gorillaz is the genre-defying virtual band created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, blending animated characters 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Russel Hobbs, and Noodle with a constantly evolving sound spanning pop, hip-hop, and electronic music. Their self-titled 2001 debut introduced the world to their groundbreaking visual and musical universe, while Demon Days and Plastic Beach expanded that world with an ever-growing roster of collaborators, from De La Soul and MF Doom to Snoop Dogg and Lou Reed.
