The Alchemy Index Vol. 3 & 4 (Air & Earth) is the second half of Thrice's four-disc concept album The Alchemy Index, originally released in April 2008 and completing the set begun with Vol. 1 & 2 (Fire & Water). Setting aside the ferocious screamo edge of earlier records, these discs move into mostly acoustic, melodic, and atmospheric territory, with the Earth disc stripped down and raw and the Air disc leaning toward a softer, more ethereal rock sound. This double vinyl edition plays at 45 RPM and is part of Vagrant Records' “Thricegiving” reissue series.
