Alternate Forms is a track-by-track reworking of Academy Award and BAFTA nominees Son Lux's critically acclaimed breakthrough 2013 album Lanterns, releasing here on White vinyl. The opening track, Kishi Bashi's “Alternate World (Alternate Life),” sets the tone for the entire album, radically reimagined in his own voice with a wholly new mood and arrangement, laced with his signature pop magic. Son Lux and Kishi Bashi were label-mates at Joyful Noise Recordings at the time of Lanterns' release, and both artists share an uncommon ability to create sweeping symphonic landscapes in the confined space of a 4-minute pop song.
