Always one to comfort and encourage listeners through various phases of life, indie folk artist Rosie Thomas (Sub Pop, Nettwerk, Singalong) returns with music for a new phase: parenthood. NPR described the album as if Thomas “plays the role of doula to parental worry and doubt,” offering space for new parents to process the overwhelm rather than another album made for kids. This split pressing arrives on Red and Sea Glass vinyl. The guest list is so extensive that Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber jokingly described it as “featuring the entire line up of 2007 Pitchfork Music Festival, give or take,” including Sufjan Stevens, The Shins, Iron & Wine, Alexi Murdoch, The Head and the Heart, William Fitzsimmons, The Lone Bellow, Dawn Landes, and Denison Witmer. Alongside originals are reimagined covers including Mariah Carey's “Always Be My Baby,” The Bangles' “Eternal Flame,” and an intimate-to-epic version of Björk's “All Is Full of Love.”
