Mostly self-composed, the record introduces Withers' introspective, folk-inflected take on soul, anchored by the smash hit “Ain't No Sunshine,” originally released as a B-side to “Harlem,” and landed at #304 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
