Released in 2022, Hell on Church Street is Punch Brothers' complete reimagining of Tony Rice's landmark 1980 solo album Church Street Blues — recorded at Nashville's Blackbird Studio in November 2020 as an act of love and tribute to the late bluegrass great, who passed away that Christmas. Featuring songs by Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Bill Monroe, and others, it's both a standalone work of art and a deeply felt homage to one of the musicians who shaped them most.
